Aurora Aksnes first musical memory was finding a keyboard within her loft and being fascinated by its music. Jan Oystein Aksnes, her parents, May Britt Aksnes and Jan Oystein Aksnes, encouraged their daughter to learn music as a passion rather than as a job. Her parents inspired her to write. She is credited with Bob Dylan and Leonard Cohen and Bjork for being among her inspirations. Her mother had informed her that her music can not only aid in her efforts to achieve fame but also make others see their significance to the world and appreciate the possibilities for them She decided to start singing in public. At age 6 She began playing the piano. At age nine, she was writing music. It was not until she turned 14 that she told her parents. Aurora wasn't a dream. She just loves to write songs. For her, the music she writes is how she feels about everything.
