Aurora
Aurora Aksnes (born June 15, 1996, from Stavanger) is an Norwegian musician and vocalist. Her debut E.P. Running with the Wolves by Decca Records was released on May 15th, 2015 and received great reviews from both music bloggers as well as the press. The singer has released a number of high-profile cover songs, including Half the World Away (by Oasis) for the Christmas advert. Oasis) for John Lewis' Christmas advert as well as Nature Boy (by Nat King Cole) that were widely appreciated. Katy Perry posted a video in which she endorsed Runaway. It earned her some attention. Make it a day to celebrate her birthday. Aurora Aksnes first musical memory was finding a keyboard in her loft, and becoming amazed by the music. Parents May-Britt and Jan Oystein Aksnes encouraged her to pursue music not as a profession or a pastime, but to grow. She started writing songs of her own. She credits renowned composers Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan as influences as well as a love for Bjork's style. After her mom told her that her songs would not just help her get noticed, and also inspire others to see their importance in the world and realize how they can benefit from them, she decided to begin playing in front of the public. She began playing the piano when she was six years old and started making music when she was 9 years old. Her family didn't have any idea about it until she turned 14. There was no way she could have imagined to become Aurora. As she says, she simply enjoys writing songs. Music is her favorite way of feeling something.
